First official conference of Bruno Moleas as new CSIT President: as representative of CSIT, President Molea participated at the SportAccord International Federation Forum which took place in Lausanne (Switzerland) from the 9th to the 11th of November. He also had a meeting with IOC President Thomas Bach.
130 members attended the CSIT Congress and decisions were taken in several bodies within the frame of the Congress–week. Besides the appointment of Bruno Molea as new President, the participants were given plenty of very useful and important information for the upcoming 5th CSIT World Sports Games in June 2017 in Riga (Latvia).
During the 38th CSIT Congress in Riga (Latvia) CSIT Congress appointed Italian Bruno Molea as new President of the organisation. Molea took over the presidency of Austrian Harald Bauer, who resigned due to business reasons. Bauer, CSIT President since 2008, recently signed a contract as CEO of the Austrian “Sporthilfe”, an organisation for sponsorship of Austrians Top-Athletes. “ picture: Harald Bauer (left) handed over to Bruno Molea.
CSIT will hold the next ordinary Congress from October 17 – 23, 2016 in the capital-city of Riga / Latvia, the host city of the World Sports Games 2017. CSIT and its organizing union LTSA-Latvian Sport for All Association are pleased to invite the members of the CSIT Executive Committee, chairmen & secretaries of Technical Commissions, members of the Working Groups, representatives of all member unions and cooperation partners to this convention. Registration deadline is September 16th.
More than twenty opinion leaders and specialists from seven member unions took part in the 3rd formation course “Physical activities for seniors”. The participants came from AFWSI (Iran), FROS (Belgium), TUL (Finland), HAPOEL (Israel), UISP (Italy), DAI (Denmark) and FSGT (France). The participants are used to instruct seniors and elderly people at home and all participants had a fruitful and pleasant time of sharing experiences and proposing new ideas and activities. The evaluation showed that all could bring something back home. These courses represent something special for CSIT and there is no doubt that there are grounds to continue these courses in the future. Next time will be in 2018.

The Baltic CSIT member union Latvian Sport for All Association – LTSA will be host of the V. CSIT WORLD SPORTS GAMES, to be held in the city of Riga from 13th to 18th of June, 2017. The capital city of Latvia, Riga is welcoming CSIT, its World Sports Games, the International Workers & Amateur Sports Movement and the several thousands of participants from all over the world to practice and compete in sports and sports for all activities in the best atmosphere and conditions. In the past years it is proven that the World Sport Games are an excellent opportunity to meet and greet international people in a sportive and amicable way.
CSIT held its EXCOM-Meeting from June 16 to 19 in Zermatt (Switzerland). Main topics were the status of preparations for the next CSIT World Sports Games 2017 and CSIT Congress 2016 in Riga (Lettland), presented by Juris Radzevics, Executive Director of Riga City, and Galina Gorbatenkova, General Secretary of organizing CSIT-member LTSA. Detailed invitations for the Games will be sent out by CSIT office in Vienna within the next weeks.
Due to their 90 anniversary CSIT member union NCS from Holland organized in The Hague from May 5th until May 8th the CSIT Swimming Championships for youth swimmers. The championships were officially opened by speeches of NCS President Hugo Artz, CSIT Sports Director Henk Bouchoms and CSIT Vice President and AICS President Bruno Molea from Italy.
During the SportAccord Convention in Lausanne - Switzerland CSIT President Harald Bauer and Vice-President Bruno Molea met IOC President Thomas Bach and IOC Sports director Kit McConnell. The CSIT leadership briefly introduced the actual situation in CSIT and applied for membership in the IOC Sports for All Commission.

CSIT is going new ways with the CSIT World Sports Games. After opening the Games to all amateurs in 2011 CSIT ExCom decided during the first meeting 2016 in Cuba to shorten the Games down from eight to six activity days. The World Sports Games in Riga 2017 will therefore take place from June 13 to 18. All delegations will of course have the possibility to extend their stay in the capital of Latvia.
In the upcoming days CSIT member unions will receive a first pre-invitation for the Games 2017. The final invitation will be sent out after the next ExCom meeting in June in Switzerland, one year ahead of the Games in Riga. CSIT ExCom further decided in Cuba to organise upcoming CSIT World Sports Games not only in countries of member organizations.
CSIT gives many organisations and new sports movements the possibility to present their movement. One of the Co-operation partners in Lignano was the FICS, Federation Internationale de Chiropractique du Sport.
The International Rhönrad (Wheel Gymnastics) Federation (IRV) was organising its official World Championships in the framework of the Games in Lignano. It was a great artistic show and very spectacular for all touristic guests and participating nations at the Games. Also Mamanet as well as YouFO and many characteristic local sports were invited to demonstrate their sports during the Games in Lignano. Together with the organising committee of Riga 2017 CSIT is working on a big program for the Games Riga 2017.
CSIT is an accelerator for Mamanet, the strong ladies movement with origin in Israel. The CSIT Congress 2015 in Cancun decided by vote that Mamanet will be officially incorporated in the CSIT World Sports Games 2017 in Riga, Latvia and installed a technical commission. The movement starts to gain ground in several countries worldwide, in the USA as well as in Europe.
CSIT ExCom met for the first time 2016 in Havana, Cuba. The meeting was on invitation of CTC, Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, member of COPADET, the CSIT member organization in Central America. It was the first come together after the CSIT election congress last October in Cancun.
CSIT is going a new way in the bidding process for upcoming CSIT World Sports Games. Starting with the Games 2019 every interested country or organization can apply as host for the CSIT WSG, not only cities in countries of CSIT member organizations. This is a next step in opening the CSIT and present the movement to a much bigger community. This decision was taken by the CSIT ExCom during the meeting in February in Havanna, Cuba. The bidding process for the Games 2019 and 2021 is open. Application to office@csit.tv.
