BRIDGES - 3rd Photography Meeting in Thessaloniki

Although the unprecedented quarantine situations prevented the BRIDGES team from carrying out activities in physical presence in Thessaloniki, with the support of ANTIGONE, the teenagers remained in contact online during April and March, holding weekly meetings.

On Friday, June 5th, the group met for the first time after the lockdown and, starting from the port of Thessaloniki, they had a long walk together in the city for another photography activity. The participants shared their news and through the art of photography once again managed to express thoughts and worries, to exchange feelings and ideas, and strengthened the BRIDGES between them.

During this first action after the lockdown, the group was asked to capture, through photographs, emotions and thoughts on free movement and mixing with friends and family after a while. The photos taken by the members of the group were mostly about travel, freedom, socializing, nature and the environment.

The event was attended by 26 teenagers and young people from Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Greece, teenagers of Roma, Albanian and Russian origin who collaborated in mixed groups. During the action they had the opportunity to tell their news and discuss after a long time since they did not have live communication with most of their friends.

In the BRIDGES project, we build bridges of communication and demolish prejudices, stigmatization and racism.
